Jeffrey Schindler Curates and Hosts a Bernstein Centennial Concert at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC

Jeffrey has been invited to conduct, host, and curate the last concert of 2018 at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, celebrating the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein in his role as educator rather than conductor or composer. A recreation and expansion of Bernstein's Young People's Concert, A Salute to Vienna in ¾ Time, the concert features Washington’s resident Suchertorte ensemble, performing music from Mozart to Harry Potter, as well as Arnold Schoenberg’s Early Waltzes for string orchestra, and Jeffrey’s own arrangements of music by Alexander von Zemlinsky and Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Also included: a rare performance of Josef Strauss’ exquisite Sphärenklänge waltz, Op.235.
